Where do we go From Here?

Oftentimes, after victims leave an abusive situation, there is a sense of being ‘lost’ or not knowing your place in the world. It can take awhile to acclimate and adjust to confidently leading your own life, making decisions that you believe are in your best interest, and pursuing the things that you love without guilt.

Comedically, the hit TV Series: “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” depicts what it’s like for three girls to adjust and acclimate to new life, after living underground for 15 years in a cult. In it’s comedic nature, it does a great job of illustrating the difficulties and nuances that individuals face in reclaiming their life, afte years in an abusive and toxic relationship.
