YOUR STORY MATTERS.
Over the past several years, many of us who attended Ignite Life Center, Refuge of Hope, FMD, or other churches have experienced and witnessed things that left lasting impacts on our lives. Some of those stories have already started to surface, and many more are still waiting to be told.
We are beginning work on a documentary that seeks to bring these stories together — not just one perspective, but a collective record of people’s lived experiences.
If you feel ready to participate, here’s how you can contribute at this stage:
Simply Write/Record a Voice Message of your full story (no need for polish, just honesty).
Email Your Written Story, Files, and/or Voice Messages to contactluminarymedia@gmail.com
(Or, scroll down to submit directly on our website, with the option of remaining anonymous.)
That’s It! We will be in touch soon.
If possible, here are some helpful points to include in your submission:
Time frame(s) you attended your organization (church, affiliate organization, etc.)
Major points or themes you’d like to highlight
Any roles/positions you held (student, volunteer, staff, etc.)
How your time there impacted you (emotionally, spiritually, relationally, financially, etc.)
Any specific incidents or patterns you want to share
What led you to leave (if applicable)
How life has been since leaving
Anything you want viewers to understand about your experience
Your comfort level with being named vs. remaining anonymous
Deadline for Submissions:
To help us begin organizing and understanding everyone’s stories, we’d love to receive initial submissions by July 31, 2026.
Please know this is just a “first round” — if you need more time or feel ready to share later, your story will still be welcome. The goal is simply to start gathering voices so we can begin shaping the project and honoring everyone’s experiences.
We completely understand that reflecting on and writing your story can be a heavy task. Take the time you need, and please share only what you feel comfortable sharing.
Feel free to share this invitation and document with anyone you think may want to participate — the more voices, the fuller the story.
Filming is tentatively planned for 2027. This first step is gathering voices and experiences.
We have already begun collecting media from Mark Vega’s Trial in Alachua County and working on permissions to begin filming in the courtroom.
ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL REMAIN WITHIN LUMINARY MEDIA UNLESS FURTHER CONTACTED.
Scroll to submit your story (with the option of remaining anonymous) below or email contactluminarymedia@gmail.com
Submitting a story doesn’t mandate that you’d have to appear in the film- you can always share with no pressure to appear in the documentary as well. (Unless you want to, of course!)
Make it Happen.
Your story matters. Whether painful, complicated, or difficult to put into words, it deserves to be heard.
If you’re willing to contribute, please e-mail your story, Word Doc, or Voice Memo to contactluminarymedia@gmail.com or scroll below to submit your message on our page.
Don’t be afraid to submit your Voice Message or Written Story as raw and uncut as possible. We want the REAL THING!
